Mission Statement
THE SAMARITAN CENTER OF TULARE CO INC, a ministry of Visalia Ecumenical Charities, Inc., has a vision to end poverty in Tulare Country in partnership with fellow helping agencies by following our missions.
“Motivated by God’s love and compassion, we exist to serve those in need, in our effort to transform lives (spiritually, physically, emotionally) in individuals, families, and communities.”

Our History
The Samaritan Center has been providing free Medical services for the working poor and uninsured of Tulare County for over 17 years, seeing over 4000 patients each year. We operate through the efforts of a dedicated volunteer staff of physicians, dentists, registered nurses, and clerical personnel in a clinical setting.
Our patients are those who fall through the cracks of the health care system—they are the working poor, who have employment in relatively low pay jobs that do not offer health insurance benefits. We help those who are unable to afford private health insurance and are ineligible for government programs. The last 25 years have shown an increase in the number of these patients.
In the future, we hope to remodel our facility and continue to look for new ways to share God’s love.
The story of the Good Samaritan is told in Luke 10:25-37
